Impact doors and windows are built with laminated glass and reinforced frames that stay intact when struck by flying debris. They protect the opening during a hurricane without shutters, and in South Florida they must carry a product approval such as a Miami-Dade NOA to be installed.

A door is impact rated when the complete unit, including glass, frame, and hardware, passes large-missile impact and cyclic pressure tests and receives a product approval. Changing the glass or hardware outside the approval can void the rating, which is why we install every impact door exactly as tested.

Hurricane impact doors with aluminum frames are among the strongest exterior doors for South Florida. They resist hurricane pressure and flying debris, hold up to humidity, and pair with impact glass and multi-point locks. Wood can swell and rot, and some metal doors can dent near the coast.
